Good Riddance 2020 by Cambridge Historical Society

On Saturday, December 12, we will bring our office shredder out to the front lawn of the Hooper-Lee-Nichols House. We then invite you to write down what you want to leave behind from this year on a piece of paper and shred it. Goodbye, COVID! See you later, Election 2020! Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, record wildfires, systemic racism, and economic recession!
I hope you will join me in not only saying good riddance to 2020, but in looking to the future as well. For all that we leave behind, we also think ahead. What do you want to bring into the new year? Write your hopes on seeded paper that you can bring home and plant. Tag us on social media with photos of your seedlings using #seedlingsofhope so we can all watch our wishes grow through the early months of 2021.
