About
With Stravinsky’s neo-classic “Suite Italienne” and two very different pictures of French music in Debussy and Franck’s Violin Sonatas, Oberlin violin faculty David Bowlin and Longy piano faculty Spencer Myer bring their nearly two-decade collaboration to Longy.

Violinist David Bowlin has won critical acclaim for his performances of a wide-ranging repertoire as both a soloist and chamber musician. First prize winner of the 2003 Washington International Competition, Bowlin has performed with members of the Juilliard, Emerson, and Brentano string quartets, and with pianists Mitsuko Uchida, Richard, Goode, Jonathan Biss, Jeremy Denk, and Robert McDonald.  He is a founding member of the International Contemporary Ensemble, Musical America’s 2014 Ensemble of the Year, a former member of the Naumburg award-winning Da Capo Chamber Players, and a member of the Oberlin Trio. He has made several tours with Musicians from Marlboro and has been a faculty member and guest artist with many organizations, including the Marlboro Music Festival, the Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival, the Bowdoin International Music Festival, the Boston Chamber Music Society, ChamberFest Cleveland, Chamber Music Chicago, the Banff Centre, Ojai, SongFest, the Chesapeake Chamber Music Festival, and the Detroit Chamber Music Society.
