Swedenborg Chapel

About

Welcome to Swedenborg Chapel! We are a congregation of the Swedenborgian Church of North America (www.swedenborg.org) and the Massachusetts New Church Union. Our church is grounded in the writings and teachings of Emanuel Swedenborg (1688-1772) a Swedish pluralistic-Christian theologian, scientist, philosopher, and mystic. Swedenborg declared a new era of spiritual life was entering the world where people would be free to inquire into the mysteries of faith and where worship would permeate all of life, not only within the external rituals and forms of the church.

Please note our regular Sunday services are currently on pause while we search for a new minister. You will find updates on our website regarding occasional Sunday services as well as our annual candlelight Christmas Eve service. We also share our space with the Anglican Church of the Epiphany, who hold their Sunday services at 8:30am.

Our historic neo-Gothic Arts and Crafts chapel is a well-known wedding destination, and we also make our space available for memorial services, baptisms, and naming ceremonies, as well as music events and other gatherings. Please visit our website for additional information. Our grounds are open to the public – please feel free to walk our labyrinth and enjoy our wildflower gardens.

We look forward to seeing you at the corner of Quincy and Kirkland!
