The New England School of English (NESE)

About

Located in Harvard Square, NESE provides an intellectually challenging program of the highest quality in a supportive and welcoming environment. Ten levels of language and culture training are offered every day to improve all skill areas including grammar, reading, writing, conversation, listening, and pronunciation. Students may also take elective classes (TOEFL Preparation, Business English, Pronunciation, and more). Diplomas are offered upon the completion of the session.

Our program is designed to help students achieve their academic goals as rapidly as possible in an ideal university setting. Class sizes are small (6-12 students) to ensure lively discussion, frequent student participation, and intense student-teacher interaction. NESE offers a very flexible schedule with intensive 4-week sessions beginning at 12 different times throughout the year.

One of the most distinguishing features of NESE, however, is its caring and supportive environment — one that students often describe as being like a family. Teachers and staff are always willing to offer assistance to students, making NESE an especially warm and welcoming community.

Students have the option of living in either a dormitory or with a host family. If you are not a NESE student, our executive residence (and student residence) are available both on a short and a long-term basis.
