Third Annual Everyone LOVES LATKES Party!

Harvard Squares Latkes are always delicious, diverse in shape, size, and texture and are accompanied with creative homemade condiments. Many of the Latkes are traditional, some are Kosher, and some are out of the box – for example, the Upper Crust “Latke Pizza” and the Hong Kong “Scallion Potato Pancakes!
Traditionally, Kari Kuelzer delivers hundred of delicious homemade “Latke Squares” in keeping with the Harvard Square theme. Grendel’s Latkes are complimented by a “Rosemary Applesauce” made with a Kuelzer secret family recipe.

The HSBA expects over 300 Latkes fans including a local “recording studio” holiday party arriving on a rented bus, a large number of employees of local Harvard Square businesses, a few unofficial mayors, a few Cambridge Officials, a number of chefs and restaurant owners, nice families, a few members of the press, and the HSBA Staff! In addition to Latkes, guests will be treated to Nantucket Nectars and Jelly Donuts!
Klezmer music will play until the dramatic reading of the “”The Latke Who Couldn’t Stop Screaming: A Christmas Story” by Lemony Snicket and Lisa Brown is enacted by the Grendel’s Den and Restaurant bartenders, wait staff and friends!

Robin Lapidus, Director of Marketing and Events at the HSBA said “I am very pleased to have been on the committee that created the ‘Everyone Loves Latkes Party’ now a beloved tradition in Harvard Square. The event has pageant and style and fried potatoes! No matter the weather, everyone who participates has a great time.”

Denise Jillson, HSBA Executive Director, says “We are delighted to be able to display our lighted Four Foot Tall Menorah outside in historic Winthrop Park, site of the first Marketplace in New Towne, in the heart of Harvard Square and now a glowing symbol of our Harvard Square Holiday tradition.”
