The 29th Annual Mayfair in Harvard Square

The Cambridge Rotary Club’s annual Chalk on the Walk, raises thousands of dollars for local charities. Other highlights include, Get Growing!, an urban agricultural informational area, Roaming Railroad train rides for the young and the young at heart, hot air balloon rides by RE/MAX with donations being given to charity, three beer gardens sponsored by Grafton Street, Border Cafe and John Harvard’s Brew House and over one hundred thousand happy people!

In addition, Mayfair features over 200 artisans and merchants selling arts and crafts, jewelry, and vintage clothing and boasts over 40 food vendors serving up international fare and local favorites!

1pm Mayfair Performance Challenge, curated by the Huntington Theatre Company. Local artists perform a short script in a style inspired by the upcoming Emerging America offerings. They depart on a fun-filled scavenger hunt in Harvard Square to assemble additional components to incorporate into the performance for the Mayfair crowd and a panel of esteemed judges. The winners take home a fabulous prize!
2:30pm Mariachi Veritas de Harvard, Harvard’s student mariachi band, serenade the Mayfair audience. Mariachi Veritas is known for their members’ passion for musicianship, culture, and camaraderie brought about by mariachi music.
