Show the T some love…and thanks a million…times seven!

Big Shout Out of Thanks to the Harvard Square T Station!

The HSBA has  tracked Harvard Square T Station embarking since July of 2010. Harvard Station was the busiest station in the entire subway system for 3 years straight…and just missed out on being #1 last year by fewer than 12, 000 people.  (That could have been 1 weekend when the station was closed for repairs!)  Harvard Station runs neck-to-neck with South Station. The numbers are as follows:

July 1, 2010 – July 1, 2011

Harvard Square – 7,045,749   South Station – 6,654,668

July 1, 2011 – July 1, 2012

Harvard Square – 7,616,864  South Station – 7,036,713

July 1, 2012 – July 1, 2013

Harvard Square – 7,257,252  South Station – 7,079,615

July 1, 2013 – July 1, 2014

Harvard Square – 7,315,707  South Station – 7, 327,504

With over 7 million people embarking at Harvard Square Station each year, it is important to acknowledge our gratitude for a system that needs a lot of help, but for the most part gets us where we want to go!  We treasure our RED LINE through Cambridge and our busy Harvard Square Station.  We implore our leaders to take care of the T….it is the engine that keeps the machine running.  Leaders….show it some love…and thanks a million…times seven!
