Grant replaces Steven Smith who led the organization for more than four years before accepting a job on the west coast, and interim Executive Director Diane Kennedy who graciously filled Smith’s role since February. Grant began his position on July 6.
A graduate of Boston University School of Music, Grant has over twenty years’ experience in performing arts management serving in top management positions at the Honolulu Symphony, Long Island Philharmonic, and the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition, he has worked as a marketing and management consultant for small businesses and cultural organizations includingWest Hawaii Arts Guild, Honolulu Academy of Arts, and Discovery Ensemble, a Boston-based chamber orchestra. Nick Browse, Revels’ recently elected Board President, note Howard brings with him decades of rich and varied non-profit arts management experience. The Revels family extends him a hearty welcome!
Founded in 1971 by musician and educator John Langstaff, Revels offers year-round programming designed to engage audiences in theatrical and musical experiences that bring the world’s cultural traditions and celebrations to life.
Upcoming Revels performances/events include the 12th annual Revels RiverSing: A Family Celebration of the Autumnal Equinox,Sunday, September 20th along the Charles River in Cambridge and the 45th annual production of The Christmas Revels December 11-27 at Harvard University’s Sanders Theatre. Revels also enjoys a vibrant education program.
