Saturday, December 15, 2007 -Newtowne Old Town Holly Days Marketplace
2:00 pm until 5:00 pm in Winthrop Park

Join us in Winthrop Park site of the first Marketplace in Cambridge for old-fashioned crafts and costumed guests. Enjoy wassail and caroling and other holiday treats!

At 3:00 pm we will be treated to a historic tale by actor Timothy Sawyer that begins in Winthrop Park and winds its way through the ancient Puritan streets of Harvard Square, Harvard Yard and the old Burying Ground, and brings to life the revolutionaries, patriots, and witches one might have found buying or selling their wares in Winthrop Park in holidays of the past!

Sunday, December 16, 2007 – Newtowne Old Town Holly Days – TEA PARTIES!
3:00 pm until 6:00 pm in Winthrop Park and in our Shops & Restaurants throughout Harvard Square all Day and Evening.

In honor of Boston’s Tea Party Anniversary – we celebrate our Tea and Taxes on the Left Bank of the Charles River – join us as our restaurants and pubs get into the spirit with Tea Parties and other historic menu offerings!

In Winthrop Park, the Harvard Square Business Association will host a public tea party with hot tea, music, and historic tales told by actor Timothy Sawyer at 3:00 p.m.

In addition, we will sell raffle tickets for the “3rd Annual Great Things Come in Harvard Square Packages” Raffle to benefit the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter and Solutions at Work. Our raffle features over 20 fantastic prizes including theater tickets, a night at the Charles Hotel, a 3ft plush teddy bear from Curious George, Dinner at Rialto, and a 20 person Taco Party delivered to your office…all for a $3.00 raffle ticket that benefits a really great cause. Winners will be chosen at 4:15 p.m. (civil twilight) on Saturday, December 22nd at our Sparklefest Solstice event.

Chamber Music Tea Weekend Dec 15-16 at UpStairs on the Square

In the Soirée Room on Saturday, December 15 and Sunday, December 16, with seatings from 2:30 through 4 pm. The Soiree Room is a perfectly pink setting for an Afternoon Tea Party, serenaded by a string trio playing Mozart, Bach, Beethoven and Schubert. It’s a calm and cultured way to celebrate with your family as you sit by our Sugar Plum holiday tree. We will be offering a special musical treat to commemorate the anniversary of the Boston Tea party on Sunday, December 16th, featuring music from the period of 1776!

Uno Chicago Grill Harvard Square is featuring the Hot Toddy: Hot tea, honey, whiskey, lemon and the Tea Toddy: Hot tea, Baileys, whiskey, whipped cream and Boston Iced tea: amazing true tea flavor, but as potent as a long island iced tea. vodka, gin, rum, tia maria, grand marnier as well as Sam Adams and Sam Adams Winter Warmers!

Cardullo’s Gourmet Shoppe will offer hot spiced apple cider and German Stolen samples to shoppers who come to see their collection of tea (and other treats) from around the world.

At wagamama, you can enjoy a Sam Adams with your meal and as always, wagamama serves complimentary green tea with the purchase of any main meal.
