English Teacher: Full-time

The English teacher will instruct students in the elementary school (grades 1-4) in the fundamentals of the English language, including reading, comprehension, writing, speaking, and listening skills across a range of language and proficiency levels. Normal working hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Instruct students in the elementary school (including ELL students);
● Plan and execute daily instructional strategies and lessons targeted for individual learners;
● Create and maintain a safe and collaborative learning environment for students;
● Maintain accurate and transparent records of student’s work and provide feedback to parents/caregivers;
● Attend bi-weekly assemblies, monthly staff meetings and other meetings, as needed.QUALIFICATIONS
● B.A. in education, humanities, English, or related field, M.A. preferred.
● 1-3 years of experience teaching English at the elementary school level.
● Training and experience in teaching a phonics-based reading program is preferred.
● Commitment to anti-bias education.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, native fluency preferred.
● Experience working with ELL students and students with reading disabilities preferred.
