Harvard University Employees Credit Union members now have a destination for their old batteries.
Cambridge, MA—February 15, 2022— The Harvard University Employees Credit Union (HUECU)
has kicked off a new battery recycling program. Members and the extended community may drop off
their old batteries and small electronics (such as smartphones and iPods ) in the Battery Recycling stations
located in HUECU branches.
“This initiative is a fantastic way for HUECU members and the greater Cambridge community to stop
harmful chemicals from leaking into the soil and groundwater,” said Lucas Constanti, Operations and
Sustainability Specialist at Harvard University Employees Credit Union. The new program has been
championed by Constanti, who views this initiative as a benefit to the community and a chance to educate
the public about the harmful environmental effects of improper device disposal. “Together, we can make
an impact, “said Constanti.
