Harvard Square Yard Sale!
All Proceeds to Benefit the
Harvard Square Homeless Shelter
Saturday, February 16, 2019
0 Brattle Street (former Urban Outfitters location)
8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Please join us on Saturday, February 16th for a giant yard sale with all proceeds benefiting the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter.
This yard sale originated when the businesses located in the (3) Regency Centers buildings received notice to terminate, which was not unexpected. The Abbot Building, the Urban Outfitter building and 18 Brattle Street were sold over three years ago to Equity One and then acquired by Regency Centers.
Many tenants, including the Harvard Square Business Association, Susan Miller-Havens, Priscilla McMillan, Margit Hammerstrom, Katherine Triantafillou and others had furniture, supplies, artwork, books, posters, etc. that accumulated over the years. Rather than discarding, we decided to recycle, resell, and repurpose with all proceeds going to the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter.
Please drop in and join us in this effort; purchase some useful and fun “stuff” while supporting a great cause! Tenants, student volunteers from the shelter and Cambridge Savings Bank staff will be on hand to accept your “best offers”.
EARLY BIRD SPECIAL: Come down between 8 am – 10 am for complimentary coffee and pastries. If you make a purchase (between 8-10am) you will be entered into a raffle to win a “Great Things Come in Harvard Square” gift basket
Note: If you are in the market for larger items, please be sure to bring a sizable vehicle.
Denise Jillson, executive director of the Harvard Square Business Association said, “We are grateful to Regency Centers for their enthusiastic support of this endeavor which is not unprecedented. Recently, they allowed for a pop-up art installation in the former TESS location and the Miller-Havens Art Gallery pop-up in the former Concepts space on JFK Street.”
Jillson further stated, “Regency has been a fair and forthright property owner. They kept our rents reasonable and have been responsive to calls for building issues. As we prepare to vacate, they continue to maintain open communications regarding their major construction project which will commence this spring.”
