Two images are side by side. The one on the left is a photograph of a gallery featuring a glass cabinet containing unrolled scrolls. Mounted on the wall behind is a blue silk blouse. The image on the right is a painting of a bejeweled woman sitting with her chin propped against a manicured hand.

Join us for a tour of the East Asian art galleries, which recently reopened with an installation dedicated to the struggles and achievements of women of late imperial China and beyond. The works on view explore moral and physical perceptions of women, including the likening of their bodies to flowers, and the important role women played in textile production.

Led by:
Sarah Laursen, Alan J. Dworsky Associate Curator of Chinese Art
Yuhua Ding, Gregory and Maria Henderson Curatorial Fellow in East Asian Art
