About

The Harvard Square Business Association is pleased to announce our 13th Annual Make Music Harvard Square talent line-up.  While you can’t come to us, we can come to you!

Let’s celebrate the summer solstice together!  Beginning at 8pm on Friday, June 19th through 10pm on Sunday, June 21st, the HSBA hosting online musical performances for your enjoyment.

Whether you’re in your back yard, front porch, living room or wading pool, please grab your drink of choice, a delicious snack and join us in feting the longest day of the year!

About Make Music:
Make Music is a free celebration of music around the world on June 21st. Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries.

Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion — pours onto streets, parks, plazas, and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers. All of it is free and open to the public.

Virtual Summer Solstice Celebration 2020
Saturday, June 20, starting at 10:00 am

Celebrate the longest day of the year and mark the beginning of summer with the Harvard Museums of Science & Culture! While we can’t welcome you to our museums in person just yet, we invite you to join us for a special livestream to learn about the scientific and cultural significance of the summer solstice and to enjoy an uplifting community event.

Attendees will participate in a virtual field trip to the Stonehenge UNESCO World Heritage Site in England, and to Cuttyhunk, Massachusetts to explore the world of oysters. They will also learn about the importance of solstices to mark time throughout history from the Stone Age to the Rocket Age.
Throughout the day we will host uplifting musical performances presented by the Pan-Latin ensemble Sol y Canto, Fabio Pirozzolo, Shelley Otis, and members of Kuumunity Collaborations. Plus, enjoy a sense of peace and wellness with a short restorative-yoga session.

RSVP here to receive the full program and livestream link.
