About

For our Science Book Talks series with the Harvard University Division of Science and the Harvard Library, we’re welcoming neuroscientist Nikolay Kukushkin, clinical associate professor at New York University’s Liberal Studies, to discuss his award-winning book, One Hand Clapping: Unraveling the Mystery of the Human Mind, the story of humans and our inner worlds, spanning the entire journey from inorganic molecules to the emergence of language, told as a mythical epic. Originally published in Russian in 2020, One Hand Clapping won the Enlightener (Prosvetitel) Award, the most prestigious book prize for Russian nonfiction, and the Alexander Belyaev Medal.
