Harvard Book Store and Harvard University’s American Studies program welcome Max Perry Mueller—associate professor in the Department of Classics and Religious Studies at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and author of the award-winning book Race and the Making of the Mormon People—for a discussion of his new book Wakara’s America: The Life and Legacy of a Native Founder of the American West. He will be joined in conversation by Philip J. Deloria—Leverett Saltonstall Professor of History at Harvard University, and the author of Playing Indian, Indians in Unexpected Places.
