It’s “He-He-Hello!” and welcome back to one of The Brattle’s favorite 90’s indie comedies! We are so thrilled that PARTY GIRL is back in circulation and available for big screen showings once again. The inimitable Parker Posey stars as Mary, a Manhattan party maven who reluctantly takes a job at a library after her godmother bails her out of jail. At first, Mary is understandably unenthused about this turn of events, but she soon finds the job becoming rewarding… she even turns her attention to mastering the Dewey Decimal System. The attitude, the clothes, the sheer charisma of Posey, and the now impossibly retro Lower Manhattan setting all add up to one of the most effortlessly cool films of the late ‘90s—one that inspired an entire generation of young librarians!
