Though Humphrey Bogart was given a contract at Warner Bros in 1936, it wasn’t until 1941—5 years and 28 roles later— that his stardom would be fully cemented when he landed the lead in The Maltese Falcon and HIGH SIERRA. In HIGH SIERRA, Bogart plays Roy Earle, a hardened bank robber who is softened somewhat by meeting a young woman in need, a nightclub singer, and a little dog name Pard.
