About

Bird watching or birding is the most popular outdoor sport. And for good reason—it’s great exercise and gives you a unique insight into the natural world around us. In this course we’ll learn how to identify some of the many resident and migratory birds of New England. We’ll also talk about topography (the anatomy of birds), feather molt, evolution of birds, their songs and their migration. Plus, how to choose binoculars and where you can go to use them. The course is three evening Zoom meetings and a morning spent birding at Mount Auburn Cemetery (or other local birding hotspot depending on possible Covid-related closures) where we’ll practice our new skills. Instructor: Neil Hayward

3 Tuesdays, 5:30-7:30pm. Oct. 5, 12, 19 (virtually via Zoom) In-person Field Trip to Mount Auburn Cemetery: Saturday, October 23 8-11am.
The first three classes will be online via Zoom. The zoom link and information on how to join will be emailed to you. Please also check your spam folder. If you register 12 hours or less before the class begins or after the start date, please contact zoom@ccae.org for the link.
