Recipient of the 2023 Leonard Bernstein Lifetime Achievement Award Presented by Jamie Bernstein

Born in Havana, Cuba, saxophonist, clarinetist, bandleader, and author Paquito D’Rivera is celebrated worldwide both for his artistry in Latin Jazz and his achievements as a classical composer. His groundbreaking work fuses jazz, rock, classical, and Afro-Caribbean music, and he champions the rights and liberties of artists around the world.

Funds raised support Equity Scholarships at Longy, opening the door to musicians who are not traditionally represented in conservatory education. Help us close the gap between their dreams and what they can achieve!
