Dr. Dog plays in Harvard Square

Old and new fans of Dr. Dog are eagerly awaiting news of a rescheduled Dr. Dog show in Harvard Square since the “rain-out” cancellation of their MayFair performance earlier this month. The Band really wanted to play in Harvard Square and very graciously squeezed a new date into their busy pre-album release schedule (Fate will be released on 7/22).

“We received so many e-mails from loyal Dr. Dog fans that we felt inspired to create a new event which we’re calling “The Dr. Dog on Dunster Street Block Party!” said HSBA Executive Director Denise Jillson.

The Block Party will take place on Saturday, May 31st from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm spanning the area between Forbes Plaza (1350 Massachusetts Avenue) and Dunster Street (closed to car traffic from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm).

Our opening act, local award wining band Cassavettes will take the stage at 4:00 pm on Forbes Plaza facing the chess players and the courtyard in front of Au Bon Pain and Dunster Street. http://www.myspace.com/cassavettes

The businesses on Dunster Street will have a block party from 1:00 until 6:00 pm featuring the “b good Family Bar-b-que” a Herrell’s Ice Cream Festival” and other surprises from John Harvard’s Brew House, Cambridge Savings Bank, Harvard Employee and Credit Union and many more…
