From August 3 to 14, students from El Sistema-inspired programs across Massachusetts and from as far away as Venezuela, Mexico and Florida will be filling Longy’s halls with music during the Sistema Summer Academy. Hosted by Longy and led by Boston String Academy Directors Marielisa Alvarez and Mariesther Alvarez, along with Sistema Side by Side Music Director Jorge Soto, the two-week program will culminate in a public performance in Brattle Plaza in Harvard Square, Cambridge on Friday August 14 at 3 pm.
