Cambridge Historical Tours Grand Opening Event

The official opening ceremony will take place around 1:30PM with a ribbon cutting on Winthrop St. Guides will then lead free tours all afternoon, leaving every hour, on the hour from 11:00am-4:00PM. In addition, our guides will provide stories, witty banter, and a heap of excited joy in between sets by musicians on TWO of the 11 stages! Guides dress in authentic Victorian outfits and tell stories about the history of Harvard and Cambridge with contagious enthusiasm. Come hear the best true stories in Cambridge, followed by the best music in Greater Boston!

Walk our 90 minute tour through Harvard Square and hear only the most fascinating history of Harvard and Cambridge from 1630 to the 20th century. Guides are dressed in authentic period clothing, and know some of the most captivating, gory, hilarious details of the nearly 400 year history of Cambridge. Laborious research and a sense of humor allow our guides to entertain history buffs and uninterested children equally.
“Our goal is to make you wonder why all history is not taught this way,” says Company Leader Daniel Berger-Jones. “You get to see what you’re learning about, and hear the story from someone who will explain it like it happened the other day. It may be real and accurate history, but this is not your seventh grade history lecture. Unless you loved your seventh grade history lecture, in which case, this is EXACTLY like your seventh grade history lecture.”

Beginning June 2nd, tours will leave six times daily from 11:00am-4:00pm. For the 90 minute tour, tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for children 12 and under. Tickets for the full tour are only $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under.

Whether you have a passion for history, are dazzled by non-fiction, or just enjoy a good performance, we can oblige.
