The Harvard Square Business Association, in partnership with the Harvard COOP, is pleased to announce a Dr. Seuss Birthday Party and a hats off to reading celebration in honor of the beloved children’s story teller’s 116th birthday! Join us on February 29th for all things Seuss! In Harvard Square, ‘from there to here, here to there, funny things are everywhere!’
Event Timeline
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Public reading of “Green Eggs and Ham” in the Harvard Coop vestibule (1400 Massachusetts Avenue) and complimentary Green Eggs and Ham, birthday cake and ice cream, generously donated by Milk Bar and J.P. Licks!
1:00 p.m. – 2:00pm Dr. Seuss Story time, playful activities and giveaways at the Harvard COOP.
No registration is necessary for these free activities. All ages welcome! “You’re off to great places, today is your day. Your mountain is waiting, so get on your way!”
Dr. Seuss Day is a holiday that celebrates the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel – otherwise known by the pen name by which he authored children’s books: Dr. Seuss. During the 1990s, the National Education Association advocated for a day to celebrate reading all over the United States. In 1998, it started Read Across America and decided to hold it on the same day as Dr. Seuss’ birthday.

Bring Your Cat in The Hat in a carrier or your dog on a leash to Cambridge Veterinary Care from February 26th to the 29th for a complete Nose to Tail Exam.
You will only be charged for those vaccinations, medications or treatments you choose to have for your pets. The regular office visit fee $66.99 will be waived if you mention Dr Seuss! A complete check up with Dr. Levine or Dr. Weiner will include their recommendations for keeping your dog or cat healthy.
Your cat will go home with a Dr Seuss catnip toy. Your dog would love Green Eggs and Ham but we will substitute GREEN dog treats.
