Cambridge Family and Children's Service (CFCS) has been meeting the critical needs of area children and families for over 140 years. Founded in 1873 as the Avon Home, an orphanage for local children, CFCS has evolved into a vibrant network of caring families, staff, volunteers and partner organizations committed to serving children and strengthening families. CFCS’ many specialized programs, including adoption, intensive foster care, developmental disabilities services, family support & stabilization and group homes for transition age youth, serve over 1600 people in forty cities and towns throughout Greater Boston. For more information on any of our programs, please contact CFCS directly at 617-876-4210 or email us at CFCS@helpfamilies.org.
CFCS services are supported by the Department of Children and Families, Department of Developmental Disabilities, Department of Mental Health, The City of Cambridge, The United Way of Mass Bay and Merrimack Valley, grants from corporations and foundations, and the generosity of individual donors.
