We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Dear friends –

June 13th

Unfortunately due to thunderstorms forecasted for tomorrow evening, we have postponed Paint The Square PINK Survivor’s event to the RAINDATE OF JUNE 21ST. We can’t wait to see you there!

The Harvard Square Business Association, in partnership with the American Cancer Society, is delighted to invite you to Paint the Square PINK Block Party in Harvard Square on Friday, June 14th. From 6pm – 9pm, we will be transforming Brattle Street (from Eliot Street to Church Street) into a pink party like no other, celebrating breast cancer survivors and all those that love and support them! Enjoy pink wines in our expanded wine garden, shop for specialty items and gifts and dance the night away under the stars!

This free, family-friendly event in honor of National Survivor’s Month will feature an expanded wine garden hosted by Commonwealth Wine School, who will be serving an array of refreshing pink wines. A portion of sales that evening will be donated to the American Cancer Society’s Breast Cancer Movement, Boston Strides.

Infinite M’s will be performing pop and indie covers of artists you know and love all evening long. They are a band of MFS employees that formed in 2022 in response to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. They immediately found a strong sense of purpose in supporting community and causes and amplifying voices. This much sought after group has appeared at numerous celebratory gatherings in its brief history and champions community causes such as Black History Month, Pride, Latin Heritage, Songs of Love, and the American Cancer Society.

You’ll have the opportunity to purchase one of kind vintage clothing from The AtticLovepop will be featuring their spectacular three-dimensional greeting cards. All that dancing make you hungry? Playa Bowls will be on hand selling their healthy, delicious and colorful pink bowls with $1 from each benefiting Strides. Top it off with a sweet treat from Le Macaron who will be offering their famous macaron cookies!

While you are here, please stop by and visit our friends from Breathe Cambridge and The Cambridge Health Alliance. The American Cancer Society will also be providing resources for survivors and those currently facing cancer related challenges.

As you pass Cambridge Savings Bank in the heart of the Square, be sure to look up! The building will be lit in festive pink lights to honor all those effected by breast cancer. If you are a breast cancer survivor, please visit the American Cancer Society table to receive a free gift which includes items generously donated by El Jefe’s Taqueria, Lovepop and Zinnia Jewelry.

The American Cancer Society uses the term cancer survivor to refer to anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer no matter where they are in the course of their disease. More people are surviving cancer than ever before. Today, there are more than 18 million cancer survivors in the US. The American Cancer Society works to be sure no one feels alone on their cancer journey, from diagnosis through treatment and survivorship, by helping people find the support, information, and resources they need. Find all ACS survivorship resources, including videos on how to cope with the physical and emotional challenges that come during cancer treatment and beyond, at cancer.org/survivors.
