It is no secret that the people of Harvard Square enjoy expressing their opinions and that we have earned our reputation as the most opinionated zip code in America.

There are many shelters serving the homeless in and around Boston. But there is one thing about the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter that sets it apart from the rest: it’s run almost entirely by students.

There is a place in Cambridge you may not know about called OUR PLACE, the Salvation Army Daycare Center for Homeless Children.

While our hometown team is not playing, we still love the game! So come on down, watch the game, cheer for your Super Bowl favorite and of course, check out the most expensive television commercials of the year!…

On Saturday, April 2nd from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Harvard Square bakers from UpStairs on the Square, Finale, Sweet Cupcake, Harvest, Henrietta’s Table, and Rialto will gather outside UpStairs at 91 Winthrop Street in Harvard Square to sell their cookies, pies, cakes and cupcakes.

The chili gauntlet has been thrown! All in good fun, of course! The Harvard Square Business Association’s third annual “Some Like it Hot Chili Cook-Off” has taken on new life as Tyler Titherington of Redline vows to win this year’s contest! (Grafton Street won in 2009 and Tory Row in 2010)…
