Reading to celebrate Firsts 100 years of Yale Younger Poets at The Grolier Poetry Book Shop
We will have three poets who have won the Yale Younger Poet Award
Born in New York City, Arda Collins studied at the Iowa Writers Workshop and the University of Denver. She is the recipient of the 2008 Yale Younger Poets Prize for It Is Daylight, the May Sarton Prize and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences Poetry Prize. Collins currently teaches at Smith College, where she is the Grace Hazard Conkling Writer in Residence.
Duy Doan is the author of We Play a Game, winner of the 2017 Yale Series of Younger Poets. His work has appeared in Poetry, Slate, The Cortland Review, and elsewhere. A Kundiman fellow, he received an MFA in poetry from Boston University. (photo credit Jess X Snow)
Jessica Fisher was born in Claremont, California, and studied at Swarthmore and the University of California at Berkeley. The recipient of the Brodsky Rome Prize Fellowship in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, Fisher teaches at Williams College in Massachusetts. Her first collection, Frail-Craft, won the Yale Younger Poets prize in 2006 while her second book, Inmost, won the Nightboat Books Poetry Prize and appeared in 2012.
