These Concerts are FREE to the public and are designed to promote the remarkable musical legacy of Brattle Square.
The Featured Local acts on April 13 are George Murtie, Sweet Wednesday, Eric Sommer and Arthur Nasson;
George Murtie is a singer and songwriter from New Hampshire & Cambridge,
Sweet Wednesday appears regularly at The Plough and Stars on Mass Ave near Central Square, and they are a much loved touring ensemble somewhere between The Band and Bob Dylan meets Jesse Winchester and Bonnie Raitt.
Eric Sommer is Winner of the 2017 Piedmont Blues Society Guitar Challenge held in Greensboro, NC and the 2018 International Blues Challenge, held in Memphis, Tennessee and has a deep history in the Cambridge Music Scene where he started, sharing bills with Dave Van Ronk at Passims and John Hammond, Jr. at Kings and his long association with Don Law and The Paradise Theatre.
Arthur Nasson has been a fixture in the Cambridge and Boston Music scene for a number of years and most recently was featured in a number of local radio stations; his style combines the best of Honky Tonk and British Pop, mixed with tinges of John Lincoln Wright and The Chris Rhodes Band, both local favorites back when The Tasty Diner sat on the Corner across from NiNi's Corner in Harvard Square.
HSBA will provide physical plant support and CIT will coordinate the Program, schedule performances and manage the on-site activities during the days the performances are scheduled. The Concerts are FREE to the public, and there will be no rain days so it will happen rain or shine! Local residents and summer students are encouraged to bring small deck chairs to enjoy the afternoon.
