MFA in Visual Arts Art Talks: Matt Saunders at Lesley University
Visiting artists, writers, curators, art historians and critics present their work and ideas during a public lecture series sponsored by the MFA Visual Arts program during each residency.
Grounded in painting, Saunders' work makes porous and provocative relationships with other forms, especially photography, printmaking and installations of animated films. Says the artist of his work, "I strive to embody the fleeting images—to embed them inseparably in their materials and have them speak of those materials." Saunders has shown his work at MoMA, the Whitney Museum, Tate Liverpool, the Guggenheim, among other museums. His work is represented by Marian Goodman Gallery of New York, London and Paris.
