Winner of the Great American Jazz Piano Competition, Laszlo Gardony has been praised for his “fluid pianism” by The New York Times. Two of his albums were featured on DownBeat Magazine’s “Best of the Year” list. Described as a “formidable improviser who lives in the moment” (JazzTimes), pianist and composer Laszlo Gardony has performed in 27 countries and released 14 albums on labels such as Sunnyside, Antilles, and Avenue. He holds a professorship in piano at Berklee College of Music in Boston and is part of Harvard University’s “Jazz Combo Initiative” program. Gardony has collaborated with musicians like Dave Holland, Miroslav Vitous, David “Fathead” Newman, Bill Pierce, Don Braden, Randy Brecker, Eddie Gomez, Bob Moses, Victor Lewis, Yoron Israel, John Lockwood, Christian Artmann, Avery Sharpe, The Wayfaring Strangers, and Mick Goodrick, among others. Laszlo’s performances radiate the joy of inspired creation, audience connection, and spontaneous improvisation.
