Saint Paul’s Choir School (SPCS) prepares boys in grades 3-8 to succeed in the strongest secondary schools, become confident and virtuous leaders, and grow as compassionate, caring adults.
Embracing the great cathedral school tradition, SPCS unites a rigorous academic and musical curriculum with the Catholic moral tradition. Within this community of faith, friendship, and high expectations, students move through critical developmental periods in their transition from children to men. This unique educational experience takes place in the heart of Harvard Square, one of the world’s great centers of learning, ideas, and diversity.
At SPCS, classes are small and motivation is high among both students and teachers, making for a focused, energetic, and creative classroom environment. Our academic programs range from classical subjects such as Latin, literature, and rhetoric to studies of science, mathematics, history, and English language arts. As a school for boys, we share an appreciation for the intensity and complexity of boyhood, and we celebrate and value everything it means to be a boy.
SPCS maintains a world-class music program that trains all boys in choral music appreciation, theory, and practice. Our boys provide the most beautiful liturgical music at daily services (12:10 p.m.) and on Sundays (11:00 a.m.), in the fine acoustics of St. Paul’s Church in Harvard Square. The choir regularly tours internationally, and in recent years has released several professional recordings, sung for television and radio, and performed alongside renowned groups such as the Boston Symphony Orchestra. In addition to its annual Christmas and Spring concerts performed at Saint Paul's Parish, the Choir of Saint Paul's can be booked for funerals and weddings.
We are always delighted to hear from potential new members.
