    Everyscape comes to Harvard Square

The Harvard Square Business Association (HSBA), in partnership with EveryScape, a local company that has its roots in Cambridge, is proud to announce the debut of Cambridge in "The Real World Online." For the first time ever, Harvard Square "lives" in the digital world in EveryScape’s online interactive 3D replica that offers eye-level exploration of the Square’s landmarks, streets and businesses in a visual tour.EveryScape

"We're excited that EveryScape and Harvard Square retailers have taken the first step in bringing the Cambridge community online," Denise Jillson, executive director of the Harvard Square Business Association. "Partnering with EveryScape not only promotes Cambridge businesses, but also our historic square as well. Now, Cambridge is revealed and readily available to a worldwide audience like never before."

EveryScape is offering Harvard Square businesses an exclusive opportunity to showcase their storefronts online. Over 25 Harvard Square businesses have already opened up their virtual locations on EveryScape, including the Charles Hotel, A Cambridge House Bed & Breakfast Inn, UpStairs on the Square, Fire + Ice, wagamama, Harvard Museum of Natural History, Harvard Coop and the Harvard Book Store. By setting up a WebScape on the visual tour, customers can actually experience the store, hotel, or restaurant before they arrive. Business owners can drive traffic to their businesses by letting potential customers "walk" right into their spaces and check it out first-hand.

"We’re excited to launch in Harvard Square and are overwhelmed by the enthusiasm around our partnership with the HSBA! EveryScape is building the canvas and we want the Harvard Square community to add the color," said Jim Schoonmaker, CEO of EveryScape. "We’re proud to offer local businesses these premium showcase opportunities online, which can help increase off-line traffic. A strong digital presence is becoming increasingly vital for small businesses as customers regularly refer to the Internet as a sort of background check on new restaurants, stores, hotels and entertainment venues."

EveryScape’s The Real World Online bridges the gap between the physical world and the virtual one by allowing people to search, find and experience every aspect of a city or town in 3D. To do this, EveryScape is creating a virtual experience of metropolitan, suburban and rural areas in which people can share their stories and opinions about real-life daily experiences against a backdrop ranging from streets and cities, communities, restaurants, schools, real estate and the like.

To date, EveryScape has launched 10 metropolitan areas, including Lexington and Boston. To learn how your business can take advantage of this extraordinary opportunity and learn more about the packages for HSBA members, email Jeff Brandes at harvardinfo@everyscape.com.
