The 24th Annual MayFair in Harvard Square - Admission: FREE!

MayFair features six main performance areas, with niches of art attacks, dance distractions, and curious clowning. 200 artisans and merchants fill colorful tents with handmade, vintage, recycled, costume, antique, and sidewalk sale items – a spring shopping delight!. MayFair is the ultimate taste of event offering international cuisine, festival favorites, and food sampling galore.
MayFair is a party in six streets in the heart of Harvard Square - including
JFK Street, Brattle Street, Mass. Ave., Church Street and Eliot Triangle!

Mayfair Readers’ Ramble!
Celebrate the literary and cultural side of Harvard Square at the Mayfair Readers’ Ramble, a traveling reading series featuring five talented authors reading at five quintessentially Harvard Square locations.
Readings take place every half-hour from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Ramble organizer Harvard Book Store hosts novelist Mameve Medwed, author of How Elizabeth Barrett Browning Saved My Life, the Pierre Menard Gallery hosts New Yorker staff writer Joan Acocella, author of Twenty-Eight Artists and Two Saints: Essays, and the famous Grolier Poetry Book Shop hosts poet Tomas O'Leary, author ofThe Devil Take a Crooked House. Additional readings will occur at the Democracy Center and the Papercut Zine Library at 45 Mount Auburn Street.

MayFair also features "Chalk on the Walk" on Church Street - where Church Street is transformed into a Parisan Style Chalk Gallery - and the kids can chalk their hearts out in the special Kid Chalk area! MayFair also features free children's activities & crafts, heathy free kid-friendly snack samples, dance participation and all the usual festival favorites!
Also this year...Experience the Largest Outdoor Human Genome Project...a fun and educational way to enjoy science with the family!
Traffic Detours:
Traffic detours will be in effect for MayFair. Closed between 6am-9pm are: Mass. Ave. southbound from Garden Street.; JFK Street from Mt. Auburn Street.; Brattle Street to Story. Church Street is closed. We suggest taking the RED LINE MBTA to Harvard Station!
