Mount Auburn Cemetery, a National Historic Landmark founded in 1831 as the nation’s first garden cemetery, is one of the world’s most beautiful places and an internationally-known landscape. Open daily without charge, from 8 am to 5 pm (and until 7 pm during summer). Picnicking, jogging, bicycling, and pets are prohibited for Mount Auburn remains an active cemetery.
