Anna Sofia Batiz's passion for art and design evolved from her early roots in Guadalajara where she studied art, fashion and jewelry design. Her career took off when she arrived in Boston where her unique palette broadened into work with precious metals and gemstones that quickly captured the attention of local retail distributors. Customers clamored for more and soon she was making one-of-a-kind items for private clients. Pairing up with her business partner Jay Khoury who wasted no time in broadening this brilliant new artist's business palette into a full scale collection. Today Batiz has its own corner in Harvard-Square. Discriminating buyers won't find this gallery-worthy collection in any department store. Batiz has positioned itself to enter the market place in a way that's as unusual as its deliciously mesmerizing jewelry collection - leaving browsers (and the competition) open-mouthed and breathless.
Batiz's signature designs up-end traditional notions of jewelry craftsmanship, bearing no resemblance to anything on the marketplace today. Yet it's highly functional. Sensational laser cut sterling and sparkling array of golden, green, pink, garnet or ruby sapphires, quartz, onyx, peridot and other precious gemstones of finest water - guaranteeing optical clarity that look like dazzling stars. Briolettes, pear, drops and carefully faceted cuts designed to enhance the dazzling color zoning are set in brilliant symmetry of designs with morphing capability that allows the wearer to experiment and change the way a single piece looks in a multiplicity of ways. A simple slip of a of a ring "here" or a link of Batiz's uniquely placed lobster clasps "there" and voila' the transformation is within as unique as the wearer. It's refined and subtle and swoon-inducing gorgeous at the same time.
Exposure on both the east and west coast has received rave reviews. If you love stalking earthly treasures - we invite you on an expedition to discover, view and explore the wondrous treasures of the Batiz website at www.batizjewelry.com (and maybe find a treasure that you'll want to own).
