“ …Best Affordable French Restaurant”
Boston Magazine 2006
If your idea of a culinary heaven is classic and contemporary French food,
prepared by a Master Chef and served with style in a dining room oozing with
charm and distinctive European décor, then Sandrine’s Bistro is the place for you.
Located in the epicenter of the Square at 8 Holyoke Street,
less than one city block from the gates to Harvard Yard,
diners enjoy Sandrine’s sophisticated French-Alsatian cuisine,
and its seven-day lunch and dinner schedule.
Like any good French cook, Chef-Owner Raymond Ost
changes his menus to reflect what’s freshest in the market,
so look for seasonal daily specials, as well as the perfect
three-course prix fixe dinner, a memorable chocolate dessert called
a kugelhoupf, and extravagant meals offered around major holidays.
New this year:
A full service mahogany and copper bar, built around a brick oven.
A cozy spot for classic (and not-so-classic) cocktails, wines and French
aperitifs, as well as a selection of savory $10 snacks we call Bar Bites.
In summer 2008, we’ll be adding tall new windows that open to the street
for a breath of summer air.
See our web site for details on our current menu, private dining capabilities
and reservations. Bon Appetit !

French Consul General to Boston Francois Gaulthier toasts Harvard Square chef Raymond Ost of Sandrine's Bistro, as he receives a medal honoring him as a chevalier in the order of the Merite Agricole. The prestigous award is the French equivalent of a knighting, and is given to those whose careers have promoted the agriculture of France. Ost has been cooking for more than 35 years, the past 13 at his cozy bistro on Holyoke Street.
