Warm colors, comfortable furniture, pleasant aromas and the buzz of contented guests fill the room. This is a neighborhood restaurant where friends come to break bread, sip wine, and taste hand-crafted French cuisine. Bistrots Modernes is the cornerstone here - cuisine remarkable for its simplicity, resourcefulness and originality, without pretense. Chef Tony Maws trained under some of the country's finest chefs, including Chris Schlesinger of Cambridge's East Coast Grill, Mark Miller of the Coyote Café , Wolfgang Puck in San Francisco and Ken Oringer of Boston's Clio, as well as a stint in Lyon, France.

Craigie Street Bistrot offers several "steals" - the three course prix fixe Neighborhood Menu for just $36. served every night, and a 4- course $39.99 "Chef's Choice” served after 9pm on Wednesday and Sunday. A small bar offers a wine list with an emphasis on superb small vineyards in France. Private parties and special functions for 6-25 guests are available with custom menus.
