26th Annual MayFair in Harvard Square
The 26th Annual MayFair in Harvard Square features: CHESTER FRENCH LIVE from the Super Crosswalk; Grilling with the Pros;  Beer Gardens; Chalk on the Walk; A Dance Stage; Roaming Railroad Train Rides; Hot Air Balloon Rides and at least one hundred thousand happy vendors and festival goers. 

Sunday, May 3rd 2009 from Noon until 6:00pm.
(Rain date – Sunday, May 17th 2009)

New Events this year:

  • Grilling with the Pros featuring Linebacker Adalius Thomas and friends in a heated competition with Harvard Square’s Pro Grill-Team Chefs!
  • A Harvard Square Cut-A-thon featuring Harvard Square salons!  

In addition to five stages of live music and dance, MayFair features over 200 artisans and merchants with colorful tents displaying handmade clothing, art, jewelry, and sidewalk sale items. MayFair is the ultimate “taste of” event, offering over 40 booths featuring international cuisine, festival favorites, delicious desserts and free samples!

SPRING HAIR CUT-A-THON!

Get a new spring ‘do for $20 at the MayFair Cut-a-Thon where our very own Harvard Square award-winning salons: Plan B; Le Pli; Salon Bella Mar; and Floyd’s Barber Shop have joined together to spring-up everyone’s look with a new charitable ‘do! All of the proceeds go to The Hoffman Breast Center at Mount Auburn Hospital. Anyone who wishes to donate long braids to Locks of Love with not have to pay entry fee!

GRILLING WITH THE PROS: Church Street Parking Lot

Grilling with the Pros featuring New England Linebacker Adalius Thomas’ Pro Team in a heated competition with Harvard Square’s Pro Chefs to benefit Mass Mentoring and Community Servings. Once inside the Grilling with the Pros enclosed Grid Iron, you are an intimate part of the intensely competitive cooking and eating action as each team Flips, Bastes, Smokes, and Batters it’s “hottest” grilled creations. On the Pro Football Grill Squad “Team Thomas,” Captain Adalius Thomas and his friend Ty Warren and other Surprise Guests stand firm with Celebrity “Meat Coaches”: Ron Savenor and Trey Goodwin from Boston’s Famous Smokehouse and the Savenor pro-meat team. The Chef Home Team is led by Paul O’Connell (Veteran of the Taste of the NFL and Chez Henri Owner and Chef) and features Chef Steven Brand, Chef Susan Regis, and Chef/Owner Deborah Hughes from UpStairs on the Square; Chef Michael Scelfo from Temple Bar; Chef Peter Davis from Henrietta’s Table; Chef Dave Punch from Ten Tables and Krista Kranyak Owner of Ten Tables; and John Schall owner of Fire & Ice.  Tickets are available at the HSBA office 617-491-3434 and on-site that day! Adults - $30, Kids under twelve (must be accompanied by and adult) $10! Times: 1pm-2:30 and 3:00pm-4:30!
