The April 1911 Bulletin is the first known publication produced by the HSBMA.  The Bulletin was “published to inform the people of Cambridge, and of cities and towns to the west and north, how well the Harvard Square banks, merchants, and master mechanics can and will serve the people of this district.”  The Bulletin outlines the founding impetus for the formation of the HSBMA and the guiding principals which continue one hundred years later to inform the HSBA’s direction.

The “future development” plans laid out in the 1913 were the focus of the decade ahead. Many physical improvements were made to Harvard Square at the bequest of the HSBMA during this period of time including the installation of 53 electric street lamps in 1914
