The Cambridge Center for Adult Education's popular series for writers and readers, The Writer's Life, returns on four Wednesday evenings this spring: 4/11, 4/18, 4/25 & 5/2 at 8:00 pm.
"The Writer's Life is a terrific opportunity to interact with local authors," says CCAE associate program director Jullia Cavallaro., "and learn some of the details about their experiences as a writer."
Each week's discussion will focus on a different topic.
On April 11 Laolin Kay, Madeline Miller, and Christopher Boucher will talk about the journey from conception to publishing of their first books.
On April 18 Hallie Ephron, Ken Harvey, and Kate Snodgrass will share their ideas about crafting good dialogue.
On April 25 Dana Bonstrom and Matthew Salesses will talk about publishing in unconventional formats such as e-books, flash fiction, and opera libretti.
And on May 2 Andrew Krivak and Rosie Sultan will discuss the unique challenges and rewards of writing about historical figures and events.
"The April 18 panel on dialogue is a new offering," says Cavallaro, "and two of the panelists are award-winning playwrights and screenwriters. We are also excited to be exploring more unconventional publishing formats on April 25."
All the panels meet in CCAE's historical Blacksmith House at 56 Brattle Street in the heart of Harvard Square, and cost $6 each.
"Both writers and readers alike will enjoy these panels," says Cavallaro. "It can be very inspiring to learn how other writers pursue their craft."
The Writer's Life is presented in collaboration with Boston chapter of the National Writers' Union.
