It’s a rare film that can successfully encompass as many different tones as CON AIR manages to. Like a fine wine, it’s overall tone is a marriage of many different notes: alternately dumb, fun, hilarious, exciting, and disturbing. This high-concept action flick features Cage as Cameron Poe, a recently paroled man who has the great misfortune to be sent home on a prison transport plane that is carrying some of the most despicable convicts in the country. When the cons, lead by the sinister Cyrus “the Virus” Grissom (Malkovich), take over the plane, it’s up to Cameron to stop them from escaping the country.
