This gallery talk, presented in conjunction with the exhibition Jasper Johns / In Press: The Crosshatch Works and the Logic of Print, will consider John’s screenprint Usuyuki (1981) and its relationship to American conceptual art. It will focus on the key role of printmaking in the development of conceptual art strategies, as evident in the work of Johns as well as that of his contemporaries, such as Frank Stella and Sol Le Witt.
Free with price of admission. Admission is free to MA residents with valid ID on Saturdays before noon.
