Harvard Real Estate Services and the 12th Annual Dr. Walter J. Leonard Black Arts Festival present: Sankofa Arts Gallery.

Opening Reception:  Friday, March 5 from 5 – 7 pm.
 
Join us as we celebrate the richness and talent that is black spirituality and creativity, through various visual art media, including, paintings, collages, photography and more.
 
This year's theme ‘Sankofa,’ is a West African word that literally means "return and fetch it". Sankofa captures the essence of how the past inspires the present and the future.  It is a strong call to fall back to our roots, to enable us to see how far we have come, and how far we have yet to go. 
 
This exhibit will feature the work of artists:  Ekua Holmes, Keina Davis Elswick, Roland Mecklembourg, Dell Hamilton, Lolita Parker Jr and Cullen Washington  Jr., who seek to share their inspirations and points of origin with the rest of the community.
